Company culture
Talasey’s culture is all about team work, supporting each other so we can better support our customers. It is a work hard, play hard environment, where hard work is rewarded.
Despite the continued growth of the company, it has very much retained a ‘family feel’ where people are and feel supported. One of the most common reasons people like working at Talasey is ‘because of the people’.
Employee benefits and perks
The head office, St Vincent House, provides staff with a beautiful and modern workspace, and a lot of thought has gone into employee well being including break out rooms, kitchens, outdoor picnic facilities, ‘grow your own’ veg patches and wonderful garden to walk around.
Talasey also offers a number of employee incentives including birthday’s off (after 3 years service), the opportunity to get involved in charitable activities plus great staff Christmas and Summer gatherings.
Much emphasise is also put into inductions and internal training, to ensure all staff are comfortable, confident and competent.
Career development and growth
People at Talasey have the opportunities to expand their skill sets, move into different roles and take advantage of promotions.
Ongoing refresher product and systems training is repeated throughout the year for staff to join and employees/line managers are encouraged to request specific training to support the ongoing development of the entire team. This could be from a few hours online tutorials through to Masters qualifications!
EDI (equity, diversity & inclusion) initiatives
We regularly review all policies, which are available to all staff via our HR portal. We our proud of our equality, diversity and inclusion policies and are pleased to share that our Senior Leadership Team has over 60% representation from female Directors and our workforce is made up of a large range of nationalities.
Sustainability / environmental stewardship
Talasey is committed to responsible trading, the environment and ensuring product quality with full testing and relevant accreditations.
When it comes to our Natural Paving range, we are active members of the Ethical Stone Register, and support and invest heavily in our supply chain and the people that work in it. In India, we work closely with our natural stone supply chain to ensure ethical sourcing and have great relationships with our quarries and factory partners. We prioritize worker well-being and safety standards, along with supporting local charitable initiatives.
We are passionate about the responsible sourcing of our raw materials, as demonstrated by our FSC Certification, as Talasey are FSC®* certified (*FSC, the mark of responsible forestry. FSC® C154335). By offering Piranha composite materials we are helping to take care of the world’s forests. Piranha composite products are made from a mixture of: 60% Hardwood Timber, 30% Recycled HDPE Plastic Materials and 10% Additives, meaning that for every 323 deck boards manufactured, we save 1000kg of plastic from polluting our oceans or landfill.
Our Pavetuf Priming Slurry is more eco-friendly with reduced carbon content and comes in a choice of a 17kg tub (100% recyclable) or a 25kg bag (a greener alternative to the tub option). Plus our Pavetuf pallets come wrapped with a 30% recycled plastic wrap, helping us further shrink our carbon footprint.
Our Vitripiazza Bellezza/Anno Lite porcelain paving packaging has also been reduced as these are thinner pavers (16mm), this also allows for more packs per load, reducing emissions used from transportation.
