Apprentice Internal Sales Advisor

Job description

The Apprentice Internal Sales Advisor will learn and develop skills to contribute to achieving monthly and annual sales targets for the Branch. They will work with the Branch Manager and other Branch staff to identify and maintain customer relationships to maximise sales potential. The role will also provide any ad-hoc support to the Branch as required.

The role will report directly to the Branch Manager. The job holder may have contact and build effective relationships with other Branch Staff, the Regional Director, Customers, Credit Control and Suppliers. 

Key Responsibilities

• Working alongside branch staff to effectively support the management of existing accounts  

• Develop skills to be able to open new accounts and ensure that they develop profitably 

• Support branch staff inputting orders onto the system in an accurate and timely manner 

• Develop skills to make proactive sales telephone calls to lapsed accounts and potential new business 

• Develop skills and knowledge to confidently work on the trade counter as required 

• Any other reasonable duties within the individual’s capabilities

Requirements

Knowledge / Education / Experience Required

• Good level of numeracy and IT skills 

• GCSE Maths and English (preferable) 

• Excellent attention to detail 

• Strong Communication Skills 

• Industry knowledge preferred but not essential 
• Ability to build & maintain key relationships with customers & suppliers
