Job description

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assisting customers on the trade counter and telephone as well as helping when needed to load.
  • Working with the Branch Manager on all aspects of branch development and customer service.
  • Stock replenishment from ordering materials to ensuring adequate stock levels.
  • Any other appropriate duties given by the Branch Manager.
  • Supervision of a team of colleagues.
  • Supporting the Branch Manager in the execution of the Sales plan for the branch.
  • Ensuring the safe and efficient management of daily operations.
  • Ensuring all branch activity is centered around the customer and ensuring they have the best possible experience.
  • Provide cover for the Branch Manager when required.

The Hours

  • Week 1: Monday to Friday 07:30 – 17:00
  • Week 2: Monday to Friday 07:30 – 17:00 & alternate Saturdays,08:00-12:00

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Engage with customers both in-person and over the phone to address sales inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Work collaboratively with the sales team to meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of our product offerings to provide accurate information and recommendations to customers
  • Assist in restocking inventory, maintaining stock levels, and ensuring the sales floor is organized.
  • Build and nurture relationships with customers to foster loyalty and repeat business.
  • Operate computer-based sales systems efficiently; training will be provided as needed.
  • Support other branch activities as required, such as stock control and yard assistance.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a customer-facing role, ideally within a retail or sales environment.
  • Preferably with Buildings merchant sales’ experience
  • Strong communication skills with a friendly and customer-focused demeanour.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment to achieve common goals.
  • Familiarity with sales processes and comfortable handling telephone inquiries.
  • Basic computer proficiency: training will be provided for specific systems.
  • Proactive attitude towards achieving sales targets and delivering excellent service.
