Job description
An exciting opportunity is available to join a leading manufacturing Company who are seeking a Transport Manager to join their highly successful team on a full-time, permanent basis. The role involves leading and managing the Transport team to ensure smooth and effective operations. You will manage a large fleet of HGV’ ensuring legal compliance within industry regulations and safety standards.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
Oversee Operator License compliance (NI and ROI) acting as the named CPC holder
Ensure robust driver compliance, including license checks. CPC and tachographs
Collaborating closely with senior management to ensure efficiency of fleet
Monitor vehicle weights and safe loading practices
Utilise resources efficiently ensuring route optimisation
Manage driver records, including training, driver hours and CPC compliance
Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance and ensure full compliance with all legislation
Review and approve Payroll for drivers
Monitor and manage daily operational reports
Review vehicle tracking reports and identify any infringements
Manage driver efficiencies
Conduct investigations into accidents and incidents
Support the replenishment of vehicles in line with the strategic budget plan
Oversee and optimise the operation of a large fleet of over 130 HGV vehicles
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
The successful candidate must have a minimum of 3 years previous experience in Transport management, hold a CPC in Transport Management / Certificate of Professional Competence in Transport Operations. Excellent demonstratable knowledge of transport legislation and compliance (CPC qualification essential) in both UK and ROI transport operations is essential.
A flexible attitude, the ability to work on your own initiative and to tight and demanding deadlines along with strong communication skills and excellent IT skills are required
