Tippers are the Midlands’ leading building merchant’s suppliers. We have been in business as Builders Merchants since 1916 where we supply building and landscaping materials to trade and the public. We have 14 branches across the Midlands, which stock a vast array of products from luxury kitchens and bathrooms to timber and insulation.

Tippers are looking for a Yard Manager to join the growing business at our Lichfield branch.

Job Summary/Overall Scope of Position

  • To ensure the safe, accurate and efficient operation of all Yard activity complying with Company best practise, policy and procedure in relation to Health & Safety, Security and Customer Service.
  • To ensure the efficient scheduling of all deliveries via Company vehicles, liasing with Sales Staff, Customer and Drivers effectively to ensure accuracy, efficiency and customer satisfaction in conjunction with the Fleet/Transport Manager
  • To manage, motivate, train and develop all Yard and Transport personnel in conjunction with the Fleet/Transport Manager as necessary.
  • To ensure that all customers are served in a prompt and efficient manner
  • To safely, accurately and efficiently oversee as necessary the delivery and unloading of goods in conjunction with yard and driving staff
  • To oversee and supervise order picking and order collation and loading of customer orders as required
  • To oversee and assist with stock checks and stock rotation
  • To oversee and assist the receiving, inspection and booking in of all goods received in yard
  • To oversee and assist with the inspection of all goods returned to yard area
  • Assisting with the management of the Transport in conjunction with the Manager
