Yard Supervisor - Builders Merchant

Job description

Tippers are the Midlands’ leading building merchant’s suppliers. We have been in business as Builders Merchants since 1916 where we supply building and landscaping materials to trade and the public. We have 14 branches across the Midlands, which stock a vast array of products from luxury kitchens and bathrooms to timber and insulation.

Tippers are looking for a Yard Supervisor to join the growing business at our Shipston branch.

Job Summary/Overall Scope of Position

• Oversee and assist with the inspection of all goods returned to yard/warehouse areas
• Oversee and assist with stock checks and stock rotation
• Oversee and assist with order picking, order collation and loading of customer orders
• Overseeing, supervising and delegating duties and worksheets to Yard Assistants as required
• Training of Yard Assistants as required
• Have a constant awareness of Health & Safety issues in the workplace including Safe Manual handling, making sure other Yard Assistants comply with laid down safety rules accordingly
• Have an awareness at all times of Company procedures
• Have a constant awareness of yard security
• Improve and maintain good product knowledge of all products stocked and displayed

Experience:

• Fork Lift: 1 year (required)
• Builders Merchant : 1 year (required)
• Yard Supervisor : 1 year (required)
