Yard Operative Required at Our Loughborough Branch

Job description

Due to the expanding and busy nature of our Branch we require a Yard Operative to join our hard-working friendly team.

Working Hours:

• Monday – Friday: 7:20am – 5pm
• Saturday: 7:20am – 12pm (Rotational Basis)

The key responsibilities of this role include:

• To be the first point of contact for customers arriving at the branch.
• Ensuring customers are served promptly and efficiently.
• Provide Excellent customer service.
• Assist with the unloading and loading of deliveries using a forklift.
• Receive and check incoming deliveries accurately.
• Ensuring that the yard is kept tidy and health & safety is adhered to at all times.
• Undertake any reasonable task from time to time at the Branch Manager’s request as may be deemed appropriate within the scope of the post.

Skills & Experience:

Essential:

• Positive/can-do attitude
• Good customer service skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a team or alone under own initiative.
• Strong communication skills.

Desirable:

• Forklift/Skid Steer experience.
• Previous experience in the Builders merchant industry.
• 7.5t driving experience would be very advantageous.
