Warehouse Operative / Delivery Van Driver

Location: Hastings — Sussex
Hours: Full-time, permanent —Monday to Friday 07:30-17:00 1 in 3  Saturdays 08:00-12:00
Reports to: Branch Manager

The role

We need someone reliable who can split their time between the warehouse and the van — keeping stock moving in branch and getting the right gear out to site.

Goods in, picked, packed and out the door — then delivered safely and on time.

It’s hands-on, it’s busy, and when it’s done right, the whole branch runs better for it.

Requirements

What you’ll actually be doing

▸ Goods in, goods out — receive, check and book in stock; pick, pack and prep orders
▸ Load the van — get deliveries out accurately and in the right order for the run
▸ Hit the road — deliver to sites, merchants and homes safely and on time
▸ Plan the run — work efficiently to keep deliveries moving
▸ Handle the paperwork — PODs, returns and any issues logged clearly
▸ Keep stock straight — accurate records, support stock takes, flag any issues
▸ Run a tidy warehouse — clean, organised and safe
▸ Look after the van — daily checks, keep it roadworthy and presentable
▸ Muck in — support the counter and yard when it’s busy
▸ Work safe — follow H&S and handle materials properly

What you’ll bring

▸ Full, valid UK driving licence (tell us about any points)
▸ Warehouse, stores or delivery experience (helpful, not essential)
▸ A solid work ethic and a reliable streak — you turn up and you graft
▸ Attention to detail — right product, right quantity, right place
▸ A friendly, professional manner — you represent SPS on the road
▸ A team-player attitude and willingness to muck in
▸ Comfortable with manual handling — there’s lifting involved
