We’re looking for a hardworking and reliable Yard Operative to join our busy Scrubs Lane branch.

This is a hands-on, customer-facing role involving outdoor work, building materials handling, and delivering excellent service to trade and retail customers.

What You’ll Be Doing

✅ Loading and unloading building materials, including timber and roofing products

✅ Picking, checking and preparing customer orders accurately

✅ Assisting customers collecting goods from the yard

✅ Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment

✅ Operating forklift trucks (where trained and authorised)

✅ Supporting goods-in and stock management activities

✅ Working with colleagues to ensure smooth branch operations

✅ Following all health and safety procedures

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

✅ Positive attitude and strong work ethic

✅ Good communication and customer service skills

✅ Previous yard, warehouse or builders merchant experience (desirable)

✅ Forklift Truck Licence (preferred but not essential)

✅ Full UK Driving Licence (preferred)

✅ Ability to work safely in a physically demanding environment

✅ Reliable, organised and team-focused approach

✅ Knowledge of building materials would be advantageous

Working Hours

Week:1

Monday to Friday: 06:30 – 15:30

Week:2

     Monday to Friday: 06:30-15:30

Saturday: ​07:00 -11:00
