We’re looking for a hardworking and reliable Yard Operative to join our busy Oxford branch.

This is a hands-on, customer-facing role involving outdoor work, building materials handling, and delivering excellent service to trade and retail customers.

What you’ll be doing

• Loading and unloading building materials
• Picking and preparing customer orders accurately
• Assisting customers collecting goods from the yard
• Keeping the yard clean, safe and organised
• Supporting stock control and goods-in activities
• Operating a forklift truck (if trained)
• Working closely with colleagues to ensure excellent service
• Following all Health & Safety procedures

Requirements

What we’re looking for

✔ Positive attitude and strong work ethic

✔ Reliable, organised and team-focused

✔ Good communication and customer service skills

✔ Comfortable working in a physically demanding outdoor environment

✔ Previous experience within a builders’ merchant, warehouse or yard environment (desirable)

✔ Knowledge of building materials and construction products (desirable)

✔ Forklift Truck Licence (preferred but not essential)

✔ Full UK Driving Licence (preferred)

✔ A willingness to learn and develop within the business

Working Hours

Week 1

• Monday to Friday: 07:30 -17:15

Week 2

• Monday to Friday: 07:00 -17:15
• Saturday: 8:00am – 12:00pm
