About The Walsall Wheelbarrow Company Limited
The Walsall Wheelbarrow Company Ltd is the leading supplier of wheelbarrows to the market, and the only remaining manufacturer making the entire wheelbarrow in the UK – producing an average of 1500 wheelbarrows per day from our factory in the West Midlands.
We are a family owned and operated business, with over 80 years of experience in the industry and a passion for innovation and growth. From creating the first steel wheelbarrow by hand from our workshop in the early 1940’s, to the robotic process we use in our automated factory today – we strive to set the standard, and drive the industry forward.
Supplying merchants, retailers, and distributors across the whole of the UK, our unrivalled product range offers something for all application and situations.
Company culture
Collaboration, communication, and team work is the key to our success. We encourage and rely on new ideas and perspectives from everyone at Walsall Wheelbarrows to drive us forwards and forge new paths – just because something has been done in a particular way for a long time, doesn’t mean that there isn’t a better way to do it!
This philosophy helps us better serve our customers, and develop long lasting relationships and trust within our team. More that 75% of the Walsall Wheelbarrows Team have been with the business for over 5 years – and 30% have been with us more than 20 years!
Career development and growth
Our passion for growth and development doesn’t just apply to the business, it extends to the team as well. We strongly believe in helping our team progress through the business, and encourage all who work with us to learn and develop new skills to experience professional growth.
No matter if you are working on the factory floor or in the offices, we can help find the right program for you to help you grow, and as members of the BMF we have access to an extensive network of courses designed to help you reach your potential. In addition to this, we have signed the BMF Apprenticeship Pledge, committing to do our part to help create 15000 apprentice positions by 2030.

Reason for supporting BMCareers:
“Having a 12 year old daughter myself, I want to make sure that she, her friends, and all kids like her are not only aware of the opportunities available to them in our industry, but also that they feel welcome in what is perceived as an aging, male dominated workforce. The future of our industry will not be shaped by the perceptions of our past or present, but by the varied experience, views, and opinions of the next generation that can only be achieved through a diverse and supportive environment. The building materials industry is far more than just manual labour, like any industry we have a wide variety of roles across all departments, such as; IT, Finance, Marketing, Sustainability, Engineering, R&D, Transport, Sales, HR, Robotics, and Management. BMCareers.com offer an excellent platform to show case this varied industry, and encourage a new generation of talent to help us shape our future while shaping their own.”
