Our family-friendly policies support colleagues for those moments that matter in their lives, and everyone has access to life insurance, affordable loans and many retail discounts to help salaries go further.

We are a friendly and welcoming company and really want people with different skills to join us. For those who do, there are lots of different jobs here, from working in an office to serving customers and making deliveries.
Whatever you do, it’s a great place to work, and to learn new skills and be successful. We offer brilliant training programmes to make sure our colleagues keep developing, including 50 different apprenticeship programmes, so we stay ahead of the competition and help our customers consider the environment and create great places we can all enjoy.

EDI (equity, diversity & inclusion) initiatives
We have an ambition to be inclusive, diverse and equality driven and are on a journey to create workplaces where everyone belongs, feels safe and comfortable about who they are, and is valued for their contribution so they can perform at their best. You Be You, It Makes Us Us
To achieve this, we have six communities that focus on areas where we want to improve: gender balance, LGBTQI+, cultural and ethnic awareness, youth, ability and ex forces.
We’re also part of the 30% Club to mentor women into leadership roles. We also helped to establish the Construction Inclusion Coalition to improve diversity in construction.

Sustainability / environmental stewardship
We help customers build and construct more sustainably by focusing on three key areas:
1. Care for the environment:
Reducing waste and carbon by using and selling products that are less harmful to the environment, and using less or more sustainable fuel to power our fleet and buildings.
2. Care for our colleagues and those around us:
We want our colleagues to reflect our communities, feel safe and operate safely, and have the skills, confidence, ambition and support to be the best they can be.
3. Run our business in a responsible way:
We believe in doing the right thing; treating everyone fairly, making sure our products are of good quality, and that we get our products from trusted and ethical suppliers.
