About Emerys Builders Merchants

Emerys are an independent builders merchants operating out of both Telford and Stoke on Trent, we have been established for just over 100 years servicing both DIY and Trade customers with their building material needs. We offer collections from our yard and also deliveries using our fleet of HIAB wagons and tipper vans. We stock and supply a broad range of building materials from concrete blocks and cement up to roof tiles, we keep over 1000 different products in stock to ensure we are a one stop shop for our customers. There are a broad range of roles available in the business, from yard operatives to sales to accounts to wagon drivers.

Company culture

We are proud to foster an enjoyable positive culture among our teams with customer service at the forefront of all we do. We aim to support and rally around eachother to help drive an efficient, high performing team. We try to put on numerous events outside of work each year in order to have some positive group time away from the office, these include branch vs branch football matches, group Christmas parties and curry evenings. Outside of work many of our staff meet up for drink, nights out or pool matches. When a new person starts with us they will be working alongside a more experienced colleague initially in order to start forming those close relationships and having someone with a lot of skill and knowledge to learn from.

Career development and growth

Emerys are also proud to support home grown talent working their way up through our talent pipeline, many of our senior members of staff have started their careers with Emerys and progressed through the ranks of the business. We are always looking to develop staff either through apprenticeships or CPD courses the ensure we are keeping people in our talent pipeline ready to progress through the business. If you have a passion for driving and wanting to become a driver for us we would look to put you through your class 1 and 2 license and have you as a full time or relief driver. If you feel that numbers are more your strong point we could look to introduce you in the accounts office working through credit control, invoicing or banking. In the business and the industry there are a huge number or roles and we always try to have something for everyone!

Sustainability / environmental stewardship

We are always working closely with suppliers to ensure the they are doing as much as they can to offer the most sustainable and carbon efficient products. We try to reduce emissions by delivering to the same area with our wagons and keeping it as efficient as possible. We are moving to a paperless computer system where we email invoices to customers instead of printing off A4 invoices for them, making sure to reduce paper waste. Our drivers also have electronic tablets we use for deliveries and signatures once again to ensure we aren’t wasting paper on site.
