About Encon Group

The Encon Group is the UK’s leading independent distributor of building materials and project solutions, stocking an extensive range from leading brands. The Group includes four specialist distribution divisions: Encon Insulation, Nevill Long Interior Systems, Encon Technical Solutions and Encon Construction Products. Our business operates nationwide, with branches across the UK delivering materials to builders’ merchants or direct to project sites.

The materials we stock are specified for a range of construction projects, from housebuilding and home improvements, through to offices, schools, leisure, retail and infrastructure. Our specialist teams work closely with customers and leading manufacturers to ensure the right products are supplied on time and to specification.

Our North West branch in Chorley is home to our purpose built Encon Academy and is a BMF Centre of Excellence. The training academy provides a platform for helping individuals further their career and for our business to build a sustainable workforce for the future.

Training programmes include accredited sessions working with exceptional training providers, in-house and on-site product training with our specialist teams or key suppliers, 1-2-1 mentoring and dedicated courses that help our people gain qualifications in their area of expertise.

We also offer a wide range of apprenticeship opportunities, encouraging young people into the sector and helping our existing employees develop and learn at different stages of their career. Encon is a Bronze member of the 5% Club and has signed up to the BMF Apprenticeship Pledge.

In line with our ‘Employer of Choice’ ethos, we are committed to supporting our People in developing their specialist knowledge, role progression or even segueing into new working environments.

Apprenticeships and other ‘earn and learn’ schemes represent a central tenet of this philosophy as we support our employees’ professional development. Our commitment to apprenticeships saw us achieve Silver membership of The 5% Club last year, with earn and learn schemes making up almost 4% of our workforce.
