EDI (equity, diversity & inclusion) initiatives
Our vision is for every employee to feel valued, empowered and accepted for who they are. Inclusion is not about viewing everyone as the same but respecting everyone is different.
We believe in the effectiveness of engaged and empowered employees, where everyone, whatever their background, gender, ethnicity or sexuality, has the opportunity to reach their full potential and contribute to the success of our business.
In early 2021 we re-launched our executive-led Fairness, Awareness, Inclusion and Respect (FAIR) committee, empowered to drive meaningful change across our organisation. Its representatives reflect the diversity within our business, considering seniority, age, gender, ethnicity, sexuality and disability.
Our employee networks help deliver our FAIR aims and comprise our Network of Women (NoW), LGBT+ Network and Armed Forces Network, each further supported by our Allyship Network.
Sustainability / environmental stewardship
The world needs smart, sustainable, and resilient infrastructure, buildings and public spaces but challenges like climate change and resource limitations mean that the production and use of heavy building materials must evolve.
