Illingworth Ingham (M/cr) Ltd was founded as a family business in 1929, and the principles on which the business was built remain at the heart of the business today. We are still a 5th Generation family owned and led company. With over 90 years’ experience we strive to provide first class timber products and timber services. Situated on a 7 acre site in Trafford Park, Manchester, we have a nationwide client base whose delivery requirements are met by our own transport fleet who deliver daily and our 150,000 square feet of warehousing, enabling us to stock, machine, treat and finish a wide range of hardwood and softwood timbers. In addition, our 6 branches are conveniently situated around the North West, to meet the needs of local builders and joiners, as well as DIY requirements of local residents.

Career development and growth

We encourage continuous professional development for all employees. Our future branch managers and assistant managers undertake the BMF Diploma in Merchant Management and our Apprentice Machinists work towards their Furniture Manufacturer (Wood Machinist) Level 2 Qualification. We are also introducing more apprenticeship oppurtunities such as Level 2 Wood Product Manufacturing Operative and Level 2 Lean Manufacturing Operative.

Sustainability / environmental stewardship

• A number of our sites offer certified timber, we have recently added Abodo to our stock; the only carbon negative timber available on the market.
• All new company cars are electric or hybrid with charging points on site.
• Roof Solar panels generate renewable energy for our 7 acre site in Trafford Park.
