Sustainability / environmental stewardship

James Hargreaves is moving towards a Sustainable Future by creating a Net-Zero carbon operation at its primary Burnley location.The net-zero transformation of the Burnley location was made possible through the installation of 491 Lomi 415 solar panels across four rooftops. This innovative solar panel system, paired with two Solis 3-phase inverters, generates enough clean energy to power the entire site, including buildings, equipment, vehicles, and forklifts.

James Hargreaves is committed to ensuring that the next generation of heating engineers have the specialist skills and practical experience required to install and maintain innovative modern low-carbon technologies that reduce environmental impact. To that end, we have built two low-carbon heating centres to provide consumers and tradespeople with the knowledge and skills they need to move towards our low-carbon future. More low-carbon centres are planned.
Our in-depth training courses at the Low Carbon Centre in Burnley are designed to help installers from all over the UK obtain the skills they need to take advantage of the UK’s low-carbon future.
