About Mr Central Heating

Mr Central Heating was started by Allan Pierce back in 1966 with the aim of selling central heating and plumbing equipment at the lowest possible prices. Since then, we’ve sold over 3 million boilers, 15 million radiators and probably enough copper tube to go around the world several times!

The business has been built on personal relationships with customers through our various branches and through telephone orders. And it’s supported by an incredibly knowledgeable team, with an average career span of 24 years working for Mr Central Heating.

The launch of mrcentralheating.co.uk was a natural progression to spread the word about our fantastic value-for-money products and deals to a wider audience. But first we spent a long time trying to find out what customers want and expect from an online retailer:

  • Best price for the best products
  • Products available from stock
  • Being informed when delivery will be
  • Use of own transport and drivers
  • Advice on how to handle equipment without damage

These are all things we do every day! Our stock is worth at least £24,000,000 across the whole range of heating equipment. We have a fleet of 65 vans that deliver all over the country from our various branches. Our drivers have in-depth knowledge of our products and are happy to share that with customers. And we’re confident that we won’t be beaten on price.

EDI (equity, diversity & inclusion) initiatives

Lords Group is an equal opportunity employer that recognises the importance of diversity and inclusion. Our workplace is for everyone! The more voices we have represented and amplified in our business, the more we will all thrive, contribute, and be forward-thinking. So, bring us your personal experience, your perspectives, and your background and come and join the Lords family.

We are committed to a programme of initiatives to attract more women into our workforce. This wide-reaching strategy includes two specific areas of focus:

• To make Lords a place where everyone can fit in and enjoy work
• Seek to continuously improve colleague morale by making the Group a desirable place to work

To help us deliver these aims we developed a series for KPIs against which to measure progress, including reaching 30% of colleagues being female as a percentage of employees by 2028.

Sustainability / environmental stewardship

ESG is an important focus for Lords Group Trading. Developing and implementing an Environmental, Social and Governance strategy has been a key priority for the Group.

The strategy focuses on three key pillars:

Environmental: We are implementing initiatives to address the environmental impacts, in particular, by reducing energy consumption and the associated carbon emissions.
Social: Being local leaders in our markets comes with the responsibility to give back to and support the surrounding communities.
Governance: ensuring ESG is central to our wider business strategy.
