About Toolbank

Toolbank is one of the country’s largest suppliers of tools and hardware to the trade.
Since the opening of the first branch in 1972 by Arthur Clemson and John Twallin, Toolbank has developed into one of the leading distributors of tools, accessories and hardware products to merchant, retail and e-commerce markets throughout the UK & Ireland.

Trading from 12 strategically sited warehouses across the Uk and Ireland, and backed by central distribution we provide our 12,000 customer outlets with 24/48hour service on over 30,000 products via our network of specialist logistical facilities. We have also further improved our capacity, efficiency and service with our new central warehousing facility.

We provide comprehensive ranges from over 250 leading and specialist brands such as Stanley, DeWalt, Bosch,
Makita, Irwin, Bahco, Evostik, Stabila, Monument, Ronseal, Hozelock, Kidde, Loctite, Bulldog, Vitrex and Yale.

We have an international procurement division in Shanghai as well as exclusive and agency brands. This extensive range of sources ensures we can provide products for every trade, task and budget.

As part of our philosophy of helping customers develop their business by selling our ranges, we provide several unique marketing initiatives including seasonal point of sale support, a simple-to-use B2B website and app, to identify and source products, as well as a range of website and data provision services to suit consumer and industrial environments.

Our team also provides knowledgeable, experienced account management and support at all levels, including product specialists, account managers and a localised team of sales people.

Integrity of policy remains a core commitment to our customers as we only trade with genuine re- sellers, thus enabling us to work together with our customers wholeheartedly.

Sustainability / environmental stewardship

Being certified to the ISO 14001:2015 standard, a framework for environmental management systems, allows us to regularly review, manage and continuously improve our environmental performance.

Across our estate we have replaced fluorescent lighting with LEDs reducing our energy usage. We have fitted solar panels and introduced electric vehicle charging to a number of key facilities, allowing us to produce our own electricity and begin to transition our delivery fleet over to electric vehicles and support our fleet of cars in their rapid transition away from fossil fuels.

We recycle over 80% of the waste our businesses produce and expect to improve these figures every year as we move towards a long-term ambition of sending nothing to landfill.

Our own brands are all committed to reducing and removing single-use plastic packaging from our products, with many of our ranges already completely plastic free.

We also work closely with our key strategic partners to ensure that our service works alongside a customer’s key requirements. That’s why we offer the following as part of our standard service to ensure that we minimise our carbon and environmental impact:

– Bespoke delivery service – Schedule deliveries to suit customer requirements. By scheduling deliveries through the week, it can reduce the carbon footprint by up to 40%.
– Returnable totes – By using returnable totes, it can enhance the longevity of the supply chain by ensuring less waste of materials.
– Consolidated deliveries – By scheduling deliveries and consolidating the orders, it again ensures that Toolbank
gives the most environmentally friendly delivery solutions to customers.
