Company culture

Company culture at Unilin Insulation is driven by our core values—Passion, Entrepreneurship, Excellence, and Respect—which are at the heart of our organisation.

We have established a Health & Safety Wellbeing Committee, which meets monthly to discuss and implement new initiatives across our sites in the UK and Ireland. Additionally, we actively promote our Zero Harm initiative, a company-wide programme focused on ensuring a safe and healthy workplace across Europe.

Our commitment to employee wellbeing has also been recognised with Wellbeing Chartership, acknowledging the significant role we play in enhancing the health and wellbeing of our employees.

Employee-Centric Initiatives:

We foster a positive and engaging work environment by encouraging teamwork, collaboration, and employee-driven initiatives. Some of our most recent programmes include:

  • Exercisethon – A company-wide challenge where employees were encouraged to walk, run, bike, or swim. Throughout the month-long event, we awarded weekly £50 vouchers across all four sites. To conclude the initiative, we donated £10,000 to charity, split between CALM and PETA House, with employees in both countries collectively covering 4,212.14 km.
  • Christmas Festivities – See the attached calendar for details on last December celebrations.
  • Sleep Workshops – Sessions designed to promote better sleep and overall wellbeing.
  • Sponsorship Requests – We support employee-led sponsorship initiatives for local communities and sports clubs.

Our culture is built on teamwork, collaboration, and continuous improvement, ensuring that every employee has the opportunity to contribute, grow, and thrive.

Unilin Academy Annual programs

Career development and growth

We place a strong emphasis on career advancement and professional development within our organisation. Each year, we design and tailor our Unilin Academy Programme, offering a diverse range of learning opportunities, including certified long-term courses, university programmes, and short-term training courses.

We are also actively involved in promoting our apprenticeship programmes, particularly for Maintenance Apprentices and Sales Executive training for new starters in Sales Support and Merchandiser Executive roles.

To support continuous learning, we allocate an annual budget for both mandatory and non-mandatory training across Unilin. We recognise that investing in our employees’ growth is essential to shaping the future workforce and addressing skill gaps within the industry.

Apprenticeships

Currently, we have two Maintenance Apprentices working towards their qualifications, and we hope to open more roles in the future.

Additionally, two of our employees have expressed interest in studying for a Chemistry degree at Aston University, and we are exploring ways to support them through the Apprenticeship Levy.

All our Sales Executive Merchandisers are currently working towards their Level 4 qualification as part of the Sales Executive Cohort apprenticeship programme.

Recently, we signed a pledge with BMF to further support and promote apprenticeships, helping to attract new talent to the construction manufacturing sector.

EDI (equity, diversity & inclusion) initiatives

As part of Unilin’s Academy, we recently organised Inclusion and Diversity training for all employees. Our goal is to continuously update our company policies, and we are currently reviewing and enhancing our Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Policy

Sustainability / environmental stewardship

Every aspect of our business is now operating on a sustainability first mindset.

We are adapting to deliver a more sustainable future for our families and the communities in which we work and live through our key focus areas of sustainability; product, place, people and partnership. Through engagement with our staff and alongside our parent company Unilin, a strategy has been devised:

OneHome encompasses:

  • Net Zero Carbon operations
  • Circularity within the supply chain
  • The health, safety and wellbeing of our staff along with our impact on community
