Order Picker (Full Time)

David Musson Fencing Ltd is a family-run business founded in 1981 to supply fencing materials, landscaping materials, drainage and more to the local area and nationwide. As a company with many years of experience in the fencing industry, we always strive to give a good service to our customers by offering quality products at very competitive prices.

We are now recruiting for an Order Picker; the ideal person will have experience within the builders’ merchants/timber-merchant sector in a yard or warehouse environment. A FLT license would be an advantage.

As an Order picker your role will involve manual handling as well as using equipment to load and unload DMF vehicles & customers vehicles, interacting with customers and making sure they are satisfied, and ensuring the yard is kept presented to a high standard. There is always a variety of jobs and plenty to do so it is important that the candidate can use initiative and is able to manage their time efficiently. This is a full-time dynamic position.

Working Hours are:

• Week 1 – Monday to Friday
• Week 2 – Monday to Friday & Saturday Morning

Order pickers responsibilities and Duties:

• Picking orders.
• Loading and unloading vehicles.
• Checking stock & orders.
• Storing stock safely.
• Maintaining a tidy and safe working environment.
• Manual handling tasks.
• Stock taking.
• Tele Truck licence an advantage.
• Builders’ merchant / timber-merchant industry knowledge.

You will be working within a close-knit team and will be dealing with our customers on a daily basis, so we are looking for someone that:

• Has the likeability factor.
• Has excellent customer service.
• Is hard working.
• Has a positive attitude.
• Has good attention to detail (Reading, Writing & Counting is essential!).
• Is prepared to work outside in all weathers.

Full time position up to 50 hours per week – shorter hour weeks (up to 35 hours) potentially available to suit the right candidate.

Requirements

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Melton Mowbray LE14 3JQ: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

• Builders Merchant/Timber Merchant: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

• Driving Licence (required)
• Forklift Licence (preferred)
