The Role
We’re looking for a Tool Hire Regional Business Development Executive to grow sales across an agreed regional territory, covering Fairalls, Parkers and Chandlers branches.
Based from our High Street Godstone branch, you’ll focus on winning new business, developing existing accounts and driving profitable growth for our Tool Hire operation.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and convert new Tool Hire business opportunities
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships
- Develop and deliver a regional sales plan
- Promote products, services, offers and new lines
- Negotiate pricing to achieve agreed margin targets
- Prepare and follow up quotations
- Plan daily calls and manage a structured calling cycle
- Maintain accurate sales records and reports
- Resolve customer issues quickly and professionally
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 3 years’ sales experience in Tool Hire (builders’ merchant preferred)
- Strong communication, negotiation and relationship‑building skills
- Well organised and results focused
- Knowledge of building supplies and Tool Hire services
- Good understanding of industry health & safety standards

Business Development Executive key Responsibilities include:

- Building close relationships with customers that ensures they do not turn to our competition.
- Building a robust sales strategy to identify and convert new business opportunities.
- Developing a territory strategy that develops and maintains existing business.
- Selling across our product range by taking every opportunity to introduce promotions and new lines.
- Negotiating prices and terms with customers that retain the customer and provide agreed margin targets.
- Initiating and following up quotations for existing /prospective customers.
- Planning daily calls to achieve maximum customer contact and making appointments where possible.
- Establishing and reviewing the calling cycle, ensuring productive use of time to develop existing business and to identify new customers.
- Keeping daily records of calls made and information gathered.
- Maintaining sales related paperwork and tracking sales /margin results.
- Dealing with complaints effectively and quickly.
The Hours
Monday to Friday 07:00 -17:00
Specific Experience & Skills Required
- Minimum 3 years of experience i sales within the Tool Hire Industry, ideally within a Builders Merchants
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Ability to problem solve and negotiate
- Knowledge of Building Supplies, products and services.
- A good understanding of the Health and Safety standards within the industry
