Join our team at Grant & Stone Plumbing, a respected independent builder’s merchant serving the Southeast since 1987. We’re expanding our delivery team at our ​Amersham Branch and are looking for a dependable Van Driver to help us continue delivering excellent service to our trade and retail customers.

The Role

We are currently seeking a skilled Van Driver to join our team at Amersham Branch. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods and materials across various locations. When not driving, you will support yard operations, including serving customers and assisting with general yard duties.

Requirements

Responsibilities

• Operate a van to deliver goods to various locations in a timely manner.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, ensuring it is in good working condition.
• Load and unload goods, ensuring they are secured properly for transport.
• Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation as required.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues.
• Adhere to all road safety regulations and company policies while driving.
• Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, addressing any concerns or queries from clients.
• Assist in warehouse duties as needed, including inventory management and organisation of goods.

Experience

• Previous experience as a delivery driver or van driver is preferred.
• Familiarity with commercial driving regulations and safety practices is essential.
• Experience in warehouse operations is an advantage.
• Mechanical knowledge of vehicles is beneficial for troubleshooting minor issues on the road.
• Strong communication skills are necessary for effective interaction with customers and team members.
• Ability to work independently while managing time efficiently to meet delivery deadlines.

The Hours 

Week 1: Monday to Friday – 07:30 to 17:15

Week 2 : Monday to Friday – 07:30 to 17:15 & alternate Saturdays, 08:00-12:00
