The Role

We’re looking for a driven Area Sales Manager (ASM) to deliver profitable growth across 10 depots.

You’ll:

  • Grow existing customer accounts
  • Win new business
  • Support branch teams to achieve sales & margin targets
  • Build strong relationships with customers and suppliers

You’ll also manage your own customer ledger, driving revenue, protecting margin, and increasing market share.

Requirements

What You’ll Be Doing

Sales & Business Development

  • Deliver sales and margin targets
  • Build and manage customer accounts through regular visits
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities
  • Cross-sell products and promote group services
  • Monitor competitor activity and market trends

Branch Collaboration

  • Work closely with Branch & Area Managers
  • Align sales strategies with branch targets
  • Share pipeline activity and market insight
  • Support branches in converting opportunities

Supplier Engagement

  • Conduct joint supplier/customer visits
  • Promote product initiatives
  • Stay up to date on product ranges and trends

Planning & Performance

  • Maintain structured call planning
  • Keep CRM/pipeline accurate and updated
  • Track KPIs (new business, conversions, dormant accounts)

Credit Management

  • Ensure customers operate within credit limits
  • Work with Credit Control to manage risk
  • Resolve account queries efficiently

  • Proven track record of sales growth
  • Field sales or account management experience
  • Strong commercial awareness (pricing & margin)
  • Experience winning new business
  • Industry knowledge preferred
