Job description

Tippers are the Midlands’ leading building merchant`s suppliers. We’ve been in business as Builders Merchants since 1916 – we have 15 branches across the Midlands which stock a vast array of products from luxury kitchens and bathrooms to timber and insulation.

Due to continued expansion, a Senior Sales Person is required to join the business.

Overall Scope of Position

  • To assist the Manager as required in the management of the branch
  • In the absence of the Manager to manage and take responsibility for the operation of the branch to include all Security, Health & Safety, People Management, Systems, Company Policies and Procedures
  • Key holder responsibility
  • Help develop the sales team and their skills

Job Summary

  • To promote, improve and increase profitable Sales for the Company by creating good customer liaisons
  • To ensure that all customers are served in a prompt and efficient manner
  • Identifying and contacting new and potential customers
  • To assist as required with the training, motivation, appraisal and on going evaluation of Staff
  • To contribute as required to the general development of the Company’s sales, marketing and management plans
  • Having an awareness at all times of Company procedures and pricing policies and ensuring that all Staff comply with them
  • Liasing with Manufacturers and Suppliers to further promote Sales where necessary
  • Provide an after-sales service to customers where necessary
  • Improve and maintain good product knowledge of all products stocked and displayed and generally keep aware of products available in the market place
  • To assist with the reorganisation, promotion, development and future of the Depot

Hours of work are Monday to Friday 7.00am to 4:30pm and alternate Saturdays 8am to 12 noon.
