North London Branch

About Chandlers Roofing Supplies

Established in 2010, Chandlers Roofing Supplies is a specialist roofing merchant serving customers across the Southeast. We pride ourselves on delivering expert product knowledge, outstanding customer service, and quality roofing materials to both trade and retail customers.

We're looking for a reliable and hardworking Van Driver / Yard Operative to join our busy team at our North London  Roofing branch.

The Role

This is a varied, hands-on position combining local deliveries with yard duties. You'll be responsible for delivering roofing materials to customers, assisting in the yard, and helping to provide excellent service at every stage of the customer journey.

No two days are the same, and you'll play an important role in keeping the branch running efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Van Driving

  • Deliver roofing materials safely and efficiently to customers and sites.

  • Plan delivery routes and complete deliveries on schedule.

  • Load and secure materials correctly before transport.

  • Obtain delivery signatures and complete relevant paperwork.

  • Provide excellent customer service when making deliveries.

  • Collect and transfer stock between branches when required.

  • Carry out vehicle checks and report any issues.

Yard Operations

  • Assist customers with collecting and loading materials.

  • Load and unload deliveries safely and efficiently.

  • Maintain a clean, tidy, and organised yard.

  • Carry out stock checks and report shortages or damaged products.

  • Follow all health and safety procedures.

  • Support the wider branch team with day-to-day operations.

What We're Looking For

  • Full UK Driving Licence.

  • Positive, reliable, and customer-focused approach.

  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

  • Previous experience in a merchant, roofing, construction, trade, warehouse, or yard environment is advantageous.

  • Forklift licence (Counterbalance) desirable, but training can be provided.

  • Roofing or building materials knowledge would be beneficial.

Working Hours

Week 1 - Monday to Friday 06:00 - 15:00

Week 2 - Monday to Friday 06:00-15:00 Saturday 07:00-11:00
