We’re expanding our team at our Bexhill branch and are looking for a dependable Yard Operative / Relief HGV Driver to help us continue delivering outstanding service to our trade and retail customers.

The Role

We are looking for a full time Yard operative / Relief HGV Driver for our  Parkers Building Supplies Bexhill Branch, to ensure our goods are transported to customers in a safe and efficient manner.

You will be responsible for receiving stock into the yard and allocating it into the appropriate location in an accurate, timely and safe manner.

Dealing with customer requirements, ensuring required goods are successfully located and loaded as per the customer’s instructions, as well as the completion of the associated administrative processes.

Providing ad-hoc HIAB Class 2 HGV Driving to ensure our goods are transported to customers in a safe and efficient manner and in accordance with company procedures.

Requirements

 Yard Duties   

• Assist in the yard with loading and unloading vehicles
• Maintain stock organisation and yard cleanliness
• ​ General yard operations
  

The Requirements & Responsibilities

• Provide relief cover as an HGV Class 2 driver
• Ensure all deliveries are completed safely, efficiently, and on time
• Conduct daily vehicle checks and report any defects
  
• Load, secure, and unload materials in line with safety standards
•  Builders merchants experience advantageous
• Excellent customer service skills
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate at all levels
• Self-motivated with a can-do attitude
• Strong team player who works as part of a team and independently
• Forklift truck license preferable although training can be provided

Specific Experience & Skills Required

• Valid driving license (Category C or Class 2)
• Valid HIAB Certificate
• Valid CPC & Tachograph Card

Monday to Friday 07:00-17:00
