Department: Warehouse / Logistics
Reports to: Warehouse Supervisor / Shift Manager
Shift pattern: Full-time, shift work

Job Purpose
To accurately pick, pack, and prepare customer orders for dispatch, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in line with company quality standards and productivity targets.
Key Responsibilities
Picking
* Pick products accurately against customer orders, pick tickets, or system instructions.
* Use handheld scanners or warehouse systems to confirm product, quantity, and location.
* Ensure items are placed in the correct tote, pallet, trolley, or despatch area.
* Report stock discrepancies, damaged goods, or location issues to a supervisor promptly.
Packing and Despatch Preparation
* Check picked items against the order before packing.
* Pack goods securely using appropriate packaging materials to protect items in transit.
* Apply shipping labels, order documentation, and compliance labels accurately.
* Build pallets, boxes, or cages safely and prepare completed orders for loading.
* Identify and escalate incorrect, damaged, or incomplete orders before dispatch.
General Warehouse Duties
* Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe working area at all times.
* Follow health and safety procedures, including safe manual handling and correct use of
PPE.
* Carry out basic equipment checks and report faults or hazards promptly.
* Support stock counts, audits, replenishment, and other warehouse activities when required.
* Work flexibly across picking, packing, goods-in, despatch, and other operational areas as needed.
Skills and Experience
* Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
* Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
* Good attention to detail and commitment to order accuracy.
* Comfortable using handheld scanners or similar warehouse equipment; training can be provided.
* Previous warehouse, logistics, pick/pack, or despatch experience is desirable.
* Manual handling, pallet truck, or forklift certification is desirable but not essential unless required by site.

* Comfortable working in a warehouse environment where temperatures and activity levels may vary.
* PPE such as safety footwear and hi-vis clothing may be required.
Performance Measures
* Picking and packing accuracy.
* Productivity against agreed targets.
* Adherence to health and safety procedures.
* Quality of packed orders and correct labelling.
* Attendance, timekeeping, and teamwork.
Health and Safety
All employees are responsible for following site health and safety policies, safe systems of work, manual handling procedures, and PPE requirements. Hazards, near misses, incidents, equipment faults, and unsafe conditions must be reported immediately to a supervisor or manager.
