Finance Controller

As Financial Controller, you will be expected to co-ordinate the production of the monthly balance sheet, profit & loss and cashflow statement in accordance with the agreed timetable and presenting the finished statements to the Finance Director for review. To plan, with the Finance Director, to ensure the availability of sufficiently trained resources for the ongoing stock availability of the monthly balance sheet, profit and loss account, cashflow statements in accordance with the agreed timetable.
Ensure that VAT liabilities are correctly calculated, that accurate VAT returns are submitted and VAT liabilities are settled, all in accordance with HMRC regulations and timetables. Provision and preparation of an audit file, management of the audit process, responding to any audit or management questions and providing sufficient accurate information to enable the timely and satisfactory completion of the audit.
Collaborate with the Finance Director in the development of accurate cost of goods sold and stock accounting.
Ensure that customer service is delivered to a consistently high standard. In conjunction with the Finance Director, have responsibility for the successful completion of annual budget. Work with the relevant members of the senior management team to ensure that accurate, timely stock takes are undertaken, that differences are investigated and acted upon where ap-propriate.
