What will you be doing?
As a HGV Class 2 Driver with Travis Perkins, you’ll be dedicated to our 5.5 acre Brighton Portslade branch joining the wider team of 11. You’ll be a specialist in your allocated vehicle, delivering building materials from our branch to local customers, making sure everything’s safe and sound. You’ll load up your vehicle (with the HIAB lorry-mounted crane – training provided!), double-check it’s all properly packed and legal, and then hit the road.
As Brighton’s newest HGV Class 2 Driver, you’ll become the public face of building materials delivery in the local area – leaving every customer with their full, on-time order and a first-class experience.

We are now welcoming applications for an process-orientated Transport Coordinator to join our large team at Travis Perkins Brighton Portslade.
What you will do
Reporting into the long-serving Branch Manager and Assistant Branch Manager, you’ll be responsible for a fleet of 10 vehicles (including HGV class 2 with HIAB) and 7 drivers, ensuring stock is moved efficiently and safely from our branch to our customers’ sites.
Our Transport Coordinator will be key in delivering our promise and our products on time, in full, every time to customers across the wider Brighton area.
- Responsible for the compliance and efficient management of the branch transport operation and the improvement of driver standards
- Responsible for ensuring full compliance for vehicles and drivers, the reporting and management of accidents
- Meeting agreed Transport/Fleet targets – utilisation and capacity targets
- Planning / routing deliveries
- Lead and coach your team and make sure they provide a first‐class, professional service to our customers and stakeholders
- Champion a non-negotiable safety first culture, including checking that Drivers comply with the law and that vehicles are inspected in line with company and governing body procedures
- Playing a key part in stock management including goods in and out, and stock take, as rarely required.

You’ll be out on the road delivering essential building materials to our local customers, using your HIAB skills to load up safely before heading off in a brand new 26-tonne HGV. As the face of our branch, you’ll make around 14 drops a day, building great relationships and showcasing top-level professionalism. You’ll also receive full FLT training, giving you the confidence to load and unload your own vehicle like a pro. Every day is hands-on, active, and rewarding, no two days are the same!
