What will you be doing?
You’ll be delivering building materials from our branch to local customers, making sure everything’s safe and sound. You’ll load up your vehicle with the HIAB, double-check it’s all properly packed and legal, and then hit the road. As our face on the road, you’ll keep it professional while making around 14 drops a day, then head back to the branch to reload when needed.

Who you are

  • Requirements: You’ll need a Class 2 driving license, up-to-date CPC records, and have held a Category B license for 12+ months.

  • HIAB experience: Don’t have HIAB experience? No problem! We’ll fund your HIAB training.

  • Provide training for team and able to assist in all team tasks

To be successful:

  • You will have experience within a similar role.   

  • You will be organised with the ability to plan your workload, have an aptitude for figures, good IT skills, especially using spreadsheets (Google/Excel)

  • Experience leading a team

  • At least C grade GCSE in English and Maths.

  • Possess excellent customer service skills and can naturally generate relationships both locally and remotely.

  • Highly motivated; must have the desire to make things happen on time.

Class 2 Driver – Tool Hire

As a Class 2 Driver for the Tool Hire arm of Travis Perkins, you will be the face of our business on the road. You will play a vital role in ensuring our customers get the equipment they need, when they need it, while supporting the Hire Manager in maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient branch environment.


What will I be doing?

  • This is a dynamic, active role that goes beyond just sitting behind the wheel. Your day-to-day will include:
  • Specialist Delivery: Safely transporting and collecting a wide variety of tools and plant equipment for our customers using a Class 2 vehicle.
  • Operational Support: When not on the road, you will assist with housekeeping and general branch activities to ensure the yard and hire hub are running smoothly.
  • Customer Ambassadorship: As a pivotal contact for our customers, you’ll nurture relationships, offer expert advice on our tool hire services, and ensure a professional handover of equipment.
  • Safety & Compliance: Adhering to all road safety legislation as well as Tool Hire processes, audits, and inspections. Safety is at the forefront of everything we do.


What experience do you need?

To be successful in this role, you must hold a valid Class 2 (Category C) Driving Licence.While previous experience within the Plant and Hire industry is advantageous, it is not essential. We are looking for:

  • Reliability: A proven track record in professional driving and time management.
  • Flexibility: A “muck-in” attitude – you are happy to pivot from driving to helping with branch housekeeping and other tasks as needed.
  • Customer Service: The ability to represent the Travis Perkins brand professionally at every drop-off.

Class 1 (C+E) Night Driver – 44-Tonne Branch Distribution

Location: BSS Magna Park, Lutterworth

Shift Pattern: Sunday – Thursday (50 Hours Per Week)

Start Times: 19:00 – 22:00

The Gear: Assigned DAF XF Fleet (All less than 18 months old)

Are you a Class 1 Driver who takes pride in your vehicle and prefers a consistent, organized route? Join BSS, a powerhouse in the Travis Perkins Group, for a dedicated night-shift role that offers stability, modern tech, and a “can-do” team culture.

You won’t be breaking your back with manual unloading here. Your focus is on the drive. You’ll be responsible for:

  • Efficient Branch Delivery: Completing 3 to 5 multi-drop deliveries per night across our branch network.

  • Professional Loading: Managing the arrival and positioning of your 44t vehicle for Forklift-only unloading (No handballing required).

  • Fleet Excellence: Taking primary responsibility for your assigned DAF XF, ensuring pre- and post-shift checks keep our premium fleet roadworthy and compliant.

  • Compliance: Maintaining accurate digital records and adhering to all road transport and traffic legislation.

What We’re Looking For

  • License: A valid Class 1 (C+E) license with up-to-date CPC and Digi-Tacho.

  • Experience: Previous experience with 44-tonne vehicles and multi-drop logistics.

  • Autonomy: A driver who is comfortable working independently through the night and can resolve on-road challenges proactively.

  • Mindset: A reliable, safety-first professional. While an FLT license is a bonus, we are more than happy to provide full training if you don’t have one.

As a Hire Fitter/Driver in Travis Perkins, you will play a vital role in supporting our Hire Manager to meet and be compliant to all mechanical, electrical processes and procedures in regards to repairing and testing tools and equipment to the Travis Perkins Tool Hire standard. 

What will I be doing?

  • In this multi-skilled role you will be tasked with ensuring all tools and hire equipment are tested and safe for use and readily available for hire

  • You will support your Hire Manager in managing all aspects of their department and business

  • Delivering and collecting a wide variety of tools & equipment to our customers

  • With your learned knowledge of the products and services we offer, you will be a pivotal contact for our customers, nurturing great relationships, understanding their needs in order to offer expert advice and recommending alternatives to profitably maximise the sale of goods

  • Safety is at the forefront of everything we do, so you will need to adhere and be compliant to all Tool Hire processes and procedures including all Tool Hire audits and inspections

What experience do you need?

Previous experience within the Plant and Hire Industry or a good understanding of electrical, petrol and diesel equipment would be advantageous, but not essential. It doesn’t matter what sector you come from, we just need transferable skills – great customer service and sales experience.  A full clean UK driving licence is required.
