Regional Repair Fitter
Regional Fitter – Covering Manchester & Liverpool
What will I be doing?
-
In this multi-skilled role you will be tasked with ensuring all tools and hire equipment are repaired, tested and safe for use and readily available for hire
-
Safety is at the forefront of everything we do, so you will need to adhere and be compliant to all Tool Hire processes and procedures including all Tool Hire audits and inspections
-
Identify priority locations within your assigned regions to carry out on site asset servicing & repairs
-
Diagnose and repair faults on a wide range of equipment including power tools, small plant and light machinery
-
Perform routine planned maintenance to ensure equipment remains in safe and operational condition
-
Use the company’s mobile repair app to log jobs, complete service reports and update asset history
-
Continuous improvement – provide feedback on recurring issues or commonly failing equipment to the Repair Manager to support fleet improvement.
-
Responsible for reduction of repairs and average days in repair. Will be the conduit to achieving 2-3% repairs levels within the allocated region.
What experience do you need?
3-5 years proven experience in tool hire, plant hire or mechanical/electrical repair environments. Familiarity with digital repair systems or mobile jobs apps.
Strong fault finding and repair skills, ideally across a variety of equipment brands are essential.
Technical qualifications in mechanical/electrical repair (e.g. NVQ, City & Guilds) preferred
Comfortable working independently and travelling regularly within a region
Self motivated with good interpersonal skills
A full clean driving licence is required.

What will I be doing?

In this position, you will be reporting into a Regional Sales Manager, as you will be responsible for liaising with our customers, branches and managers to achieve sales and growth targets. You will be offering a seamless and outstanding customer service to support with queries, quotations and orders.

Take ownership for quotes/orders from inbound phone calls and make outbound calls to your portfolio of customers, ensuring we maintain and follow up all quotations converting enquiries into sales contracts.

Maintain a good all round knowledge of products and services offered by Travis Perkins and have the ability to offer alternatives and associated products to those requested.

Work directly with preferred suppliers/manufacturers to source the equipment on behalf of the customer.
