We have a great opportunity for a Forklift / Van Driver to join our Horsham branch. This is a varied role that plays a key part in the smooth running of our operation and supporting both our customers and colleagues.

What you’ll be doing

  • Picking loads and loading/unloading vehicles safely and efficiently.
  • Keeping the yard clean, tidy and well organised, with strong stock rotation and presentation standards.
  • Carrying out daily checks and reporting defects on plant and machinery.
  • Reporting any health & safety concerns promptly.
  • Making local deliveries in a 3.5t vehicle when required.
  • Supporting the wider branch team with day-to-day operations.

What we’re looking for

  • Forklift licence and experience operating a forklift.
  • Full, clean UK driving licence.
  • Experience working in a builders’ merchant environment (preferred).
  • A positive, can-do attitude and a strong focus on customer service.
  • Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling.
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Good attention to detail and awareness of safety procedures.
  • Eligible to work in the UK.

HGV Driver

We’re looking for a customer-focused, safety-conscious HGV Driver to join the team at our Horsham branch. This is a hands-on role at the heart of our operation, delivering building materials safely, efficiently and with great service — every time.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Deliver building materials to customer sites across the region
  • Load and unload vehicles and ensure accurate stock movement
  • Operate a crane (HIAB) safely and in line with regulations
  • Complete daily vehicle checks and defect reports
  • Keep your vehicle clean, safe and well presented
  • Provide excellent customer service on every delivery
  • Complete delivery paperwork and handle returns correctly
  • Support the wider branch and transport team when required

What we’re looking for:

  • Valid Class 2 (Cat C) licence and Driver CPC
  • HIAB licence preferred, or willingness to train
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar multi-drop role
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Confident navigating local routes safely and efficiently
  • Organised, reliable and calm under pressure
  • High standards of safety, timekeeping and presentation
  • Eligible to work in the UK

As a Hire Fitter/Driver at Travis Perkins, you’ll play a key role in supporting our Hire Manager, ensuring full compliance with mechanical and electrical processes, and carrying out repairs and testing on tools and equipment to meet our Hire standards. 

What will I be doing

  • Testing, repairing and preparing hire tools and equipment so they’re safe, compliant and ready for customers

  • Supporting the Hire Manager with the day‑to‑day running of the department

  • Delivering and collecting a wide range of tools and equipment

What experience do I need

Experience in the Plant and Hire industry or knowledge of electrical, petrol or diesel equipment is helpful, but not essential. We welcome transferable skills such as strong customer service and sales experience. A full clean UK driving licence is required.

Yard Sales Assistant


Joining our friendly and hard working family as an Yard Sales Assistant, you’ll be on the front line dealing with our customers that come into our yard.  As part of the branch team, you will play a vital role in our continued success, providing a first class service.
What will I be doing?

No one day is the same as the next in TP branch life, but here are a few pointers:

  • Our success is built on strong relationships with our customers so it’s essential that you can help deliver the highest standards of service – the key thing is to be helpful and friendly at all times, you will likely get to know our customers on a first name basis.
  • You will be based outside, processing our customer orders, loading and unloading customer and company vehicles.
  • You will also unload our building products from supplier deliveries and accurately book them in the branch warehouse.
  • Experience of using a forklift is ideal, but don’t worry full training is provided
  • Safety is at the forefront of everything we do, your aim will be to ensure that our standards never slip, this means maintaining a tidy and safe working environment

What skills do you need?

This is a key customer facing role, you just need the ability to provide great customer service, we can teach you the rest.
