Assistant Branch Manager

Key Accounts Apprentice

Want to kick-start a career in sales or account management? This apprenticeship puts you right at the heart of BSS’s National Key Accounts Team, working with some of our biggest customers and learning the commercial skills that are genuinely hard to find in the industry.

What you’ll be doing

This is a hands-on role where no two days are quite the same. You’ll be supporting the Key Accounts Team across a range of tasks that give you real commercial exposure:

  • Stepping in to support the internal sales team when cover is needed
  • Managing backorder reports, coordinating between customers, branches, and suppliers
  • Helping customers with admin queries including proof of delivery, invoice issues, and delivery enquiries
  • Supporting with contract queries and margin questions
  • Maintaining accurate project records for Key Accounts in Saleshub
  • Enrolling onto and completing an apprenticeship LEAP course as part of your development

What we’re looking for

More than anything, we want someone with the right mindset. You’ll thrive here if you:

  • Communicate confidently with customers and colleagues
  • Take initiative but also know when to collaborate
  • Are genuinely eager to learn and build a career

IT skills and a head for spreadsheets would be useful, and any background in a commercial or customer-facing environment is a bonus, but we’ll teach you what you need to know.

What’s in it for you

This is a role designed to grow talent from within, and it’s a genuine opportunity, not just a foot in the door. You’ll develop skills in forecasting, account management, and commercial operations that BSS values highly and that are hard to come by. The goal is for you to grow into a Project Admin or Sales Negotiator role within the Key Accounts team.

If you’re ambitious, curious about how business really works, and ready to get stuck in, we want to hear from you.

Key Account Administrator

Are you looking for a role that gives you real exposure to how a large commercial business operates? This is a brilliant opportunity to join the BSS National Key Accounts Team and build a career in sales, account management, or project coordination.

What you’ll be doing

  • Managing and coordinating backorder reports across customers, branches, and suppliers
  • Supporting customers with admin queries including proof of delivery requests and invoice issues
  • Providing general support to the Key Accounts Team where needed

It’s a varied, people-focused role where you’ll get visibility across different parts of the business and build skills that open doors.

What we’re looking fory

You don’t need a stack of experience, what matters most is the right attitude. We’re looking for someone who:

  • Communicates confidently with customers and colleagues
  • Is willing to learn and take initiative
  • Can work independently as well as part of a team

It’d be a bonus if you have some experience in a customer-facing environment, good IT skills (Google Workspace or Microsoft), and a basic understanding of spreadsheets, but these aren’t essential.

What’s in it for you

This role has been designed as a development opportunity. You’ll gain hands-on experience in project admin, account management, and commercial operations, giving you a strong foundation for a career in customer service, account management, or project management.

If you’re ambitious, eager to learn, and want to get stuck in from day one, we’d love to hear from you.
