Sales and Estimating

Job description

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career within the construction, plumbing and building services industry.

Working alongside experienced sales and estimating professionals, you will receive full training and support while developing knowledge of products, pricing, quotations, customer service and project estimating.

No previous estimating experience is required – we are looking for someone with a positive attitude, strong communication skills and a willingness to learn.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting with the preparation of customer quotations and estimates
• Supporting the sales team with customer enquiries and order processing
• Building relationships with customers via telephone, email and face-to-face interactions
• Following up quotations and sales opportunities
• Identifying new sales opportunities within existing and prospective accounts
• Maintaining accurate customer and quotation records
• Liaising with suppliers to obtain pricing and product information
• Learning about plumbing, heating, ventilation and building services products
• Providing excellent customer service at all times
• Supporting branch activities and day-to-day operations as required

• A positive and proactive attitude
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail
• Confidence speaking with customers on the telephone and in person
• Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• A willingness to learn and develop within a sales and estimating environment

Desirable (but not essential)

• Experience in customer service, retail, sales or administration
• An interest in construction, engineering, plumbing or building services
• Previous experience working in a merchant, trade or construction environment
