Due to the continued success and expansion of our business, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Sales Assistant to join our team at Faversham.

The Role

We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Sales Assistant to join our team at a busy builders merchants. You will be the first point of contact for trade and retail customers, providing advice, processing sales, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction. This is a fast-paced role that requires excellent product knowledge, communication skills, and a can-do attitude.

Requirements

The Requirements

• • Previous experience in a retail, trade counter, or builders merchants environment (preferred).

• Knowledge of building materials and construction products is desirable.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• A proactive and customer-focused approach.

• Ability to work well in a team and under pressure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet and assist customers in the branch and on the phone.

• Provide accurate advice on products, prices, and stock availability.

• Process customer orders, quotations, and returns efficiently.

• Maintain the appearance and cleanliness of the sales counter and displays.

• Support the trade counter and help manage the sales area stock.

• Develop strong relationships with customers to encourage repeat business.

• Liaise with the yard and warehouse teams to ensure smooth order fulfillment.

• Handle cash/card payments and operate the EPOS system.

The Hours

•  Week:1  Monday to Friday  07:30 –  17:00
•  Week:2  Monday to Friday  07:30 –  17:00  Saturday: 08:00 – 12:00
