Join our team at Parkers Building Supplies, a respected independent builder’s merchant serving the Southeast since 1984. We’re expanding our team at our Faversham Branch and are looking for a dependable Yard Supervisor to help us continue delivering excellent service to our trade and retail customers.

Requirements

 ​The Role 

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Yard Supervisor to oversee operations within our yard environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing daily activities, ensuring safety protocols are adhered to, and maintaining an efficient workflow. This role is vital in coordinating the movement of materials and equipment, contributing to the overall success of our operations.

The Requirements

• Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.
  • Proficient in operating forklifts and other warehouse machinery.
  • Experience in heavy lifting and physical labour within a warehouse setting.
  • Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes, including documentation requirements.
  • Ability to build rapport with team members while fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems for efficient inventory tracking.
  • Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in materials handling

Duties 
• Supervise yard operations, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and safely.
• Oversee the loading and unloading of materials from lorries, ensuring proper handling and storage.
• Maintain a clean and organised yard environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
• Manage inventory levels, utilising a Warehouse Management System to track materials.
• Coordinate with team members to facilitate shipping and receiving processes.
• Conduct regular inspections of equipment and machinery, reporting any maintenance needs.
• Train new staff on operational procedures and safety practices.
• Assist with heavy lifting and materials handling as required.

The Hours

 Week:1 Monday to Friday 07:30-17:00

Week:2 Monday to Friday 07:30-17:00 Saturday 08:00-12:00
