You will be responsible for providing administrative support and guidance about commercial vehicles and plant, LGV drivers, plant operators, company car drivers, occasional drivers, grey fleet and those requiring hire cars. This includes maintaining driver records, checking driving licences, liaising with lease companies re vehicle quotes and orders, updating the transport database re fleet additions, changes etc.

As well as supporting the Tool Hire team, the Tool Hire manager oversees the Tool Hire function ensuring sales and margin targets are met, identifying new opportunities and negotiating with customers whilst at all times, maintaining the highest levels of compliance to safety standards for staff, customers and all Tool Hire visitors.
You will be responsible for maintaining and repairs of all plant hire equipment, keeping relevant logs for compliance. Manage the booking system as well as serving customers.
Tool Hire plays an important role in the business, allowing customers to hire plant and equipment to help them build. The Tool Hire Fitter/Driver is responsible for helping, advising and supporting customers with the equipment they need as well as maintaining and testing the equipment ready for re-hire. This is a varied and busy role, not only dealing with customers in the branch but also delivering plant and machinery to customers and working to both sales and margin targets. As an Assistant Branch Manager, you will report directly to the Branch Manager and support the day to day running of the branch. You will identify and capitalise on every sales opportunity, inspiring your customers with the perfect solutions for their requirements. The Assistant Branch Manager will be an expert at building rapport quickly and creating trusted relationships to ensure that everything we do enables us to deliver on our promises to our customers and exceed expectations. You will be responsible for ordering stock for the branch and for reviewing branch stock holding; making sure that stock levels are accurate and counted regularly via perpetual inventory counts. Through regular daily walk-rounds, you will identify stock gaps/low stock lines and carry out gap reporting as well as updating the min and max stock levels. In addition, the role is responsible for ensuring all stock is correctly receipted and processed and for liaising with suppliers in the event of delivery discrepancies or product issues.
As a Purchase Ledger Controller will be expected to ensure that purchase ledger invoices are coded and processed with the correct narrative. Ensure sSupplier account queries are dealt with to a consistently high standard, and that the purchase ledger payment runs are in line with supplier terms and enable full take-up of settlement discounts available.
Set up new supplier accounts and maintain existing account details within the purchase ledger. As well as weekly and monthly reconciliation of supplier statements and accounts, you will also assist in the preparation of purchase summaries and post nominal ledger journal vouchers, issue manual purchase orders and ensure that all purchase ledger invoices & batch prints are filed.
