The role
Serving our customers on the trade counter, you will ensure that the customer is fully satisfied with the products they receive. By asking the right questions, you will ensure the customer has the right products for their requirements. You will be able to follow company procedures with regards to completing paperwork for our account customers and handling cash sales for our non account customers. You will also be responsible for merchandising our shop area and maintaining our excellent standards.

When it comes to your existing skills and experience, personality is the first thing we look for.  You will be given all the training and support needed to gain the technical skills. You will need to have great interpersonal skills, be quick to learn and used to working accurately at pace.

The role
Within this managerial role you will be responsible for the supervision and coordination of all colleagues working in the Tool Hire department, ensuring a quality service to the customer at all times. You will be responsible for proactively developing a sale action plan to achieve and exceed the agreed AOP. You will undertake a full range of managerial duties to ensure the effective utilisation of all resources. As Tool Hire Manager you will also oversee that the plant and all tools are properly maintained and kept in perfect working order – all within health and safety requirements and with the correct documentation.
What we are looking for
You will be able to work well with the branch team and to be able to give quality customer service you will demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills. It would be ideal if you had some sales experience as the role is proactively sales driven. Preferably you will have a good working understanding of mechanical and electrical equipment gained within the Hire industry, or similar environment. New starters will be required to undertake a 12 months training programme to support them embedding to the role and will receive a professional qualification upon successful completion.

National Sales Negotiator

As part of our National Sales team, you’ll play a key role in shaping how we support customers, bringing together product knowledge, negotiation skills and a genuine passion for great service. What you’ll be doing

As a National Sales Negotiator, you’ll:

  • Keep your product and market knowledge sharp, understanding materials, price trends, stock availability and industry updates.

  • Ensure documentation, credit compliance and sales processes are completed accurately every time.

The role:

You’ll  work  within  the  branch sales team, dealing directly with customers to maximise sales at every opportunity, working to  expand  our  customer base by helping to identify and develop new accounts.  On a day to day basis you will be handling customer orders and enquiries by phone and email on a frequent basis.  Most of our customers are regulars, so you will build up friendly relationships by giving great customer service which will encourage repeat business.  You will communicate with the team and suppliers to ensure a smooth transaction for the customer from start to finish, making sure their order is delivered on time and in full.  You will be working in a busy sales office environment, but there is no cold calling involved.
What we are looking for:

Ideally you will have previous experience in a similar phone based sales role with great customer service skills and the ability to build relationships with a diverse range of customers and colleagues.  You will be self-motivated, enthusiastic and organised, with good numerical and computer skills.  Product knowledge is key to the role but full product training will be provided.
