What’s involved in the role?

This role is responsible for the creation and maintenance of a commercial calendar, managing all stakeholders in the planning and execution of commercial activity. The role co-ordinates activity to ensure calendar milestones are hit and deadlines are achieved; engaging with other teams within the business including Marketing and Supply Chain to ensure alignment; reporting and communicating on event activity and progress, and reviewing competitor activity for opportunities and refining the commercial plan accordingly.

Salary

£30k – £40k

Personal skills

You will have Strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to effectively multi-task and be very commercially aware. You need the skills and foresight to objectively analyse the information available. You need to clearly set out the parameters and timescale for each stage of the project, while allowing time for potential hold-ups. Being able to analyse any project objectively to identify any potential issues or problems and come up with innovative and creative solutions is a skill that most employers will value highly.

Entry requirements

Project management qualification is essential. Six Sigma or equivalent. Degree or Level 5.

Pathways in

You can start as a buyer or a senior buyer and eventually become a commercial planner.
