What’s involved in the role?

A sales or commercial director is a senior leader responsible for driving an organisation’s sales growth and managing its sales team. They typically focus on strategy, leadership, building and fostering customer relationships rather than directly making sales or achieving sales targets themselves. They ensure that their team understands the markets that they operate in and that opportunities for growth are understood and acted upon. They are responsible for the margin management within the company and are responsible for communicating the vision to the sales team.

£70K+

Entry requirements

Educated to degree level in a sales, commercial or marketing subject but supported with additional (sometimes in the job) training specific to their industry and products.
